Nothing like an unexpected compliment!  Here’s a very sweet review that I received via Alexandria Lifestyle:

“I recently hosted a trunk show and needed some sweets to serve my guests so I called none other than Alexandria favorite,  Treats By Erica.

Highly sought-after for events and parties around town, Erica whips up some pretty sinful sweets.  I have no idea what she puts in her bon bons but they are my absolute favorite (and I’m pretty picky about my sweets).

Not only do her treats taste delicious but they arrive artfully arranged on a platter so its ready to go for your event. As nearly every guest arrived and passed by the platter of treats they asked, “Are these Erica’s delicious treats?” or “These must be Erica’s!” I swear I’m not exaggerating.

Indeed, Erica  has a following and rightfully so.

Next time you need some delicious sweets for your party or office event contact Treats By Erica and make sure you tell her Alexandria Lifestyle sent you!!”

A new Treats By Erica website will be unveiled in January 2012!
Until then, please visit the Treats by Erica facebook page, send me an email or give me a call!

Next week, the PTA of Douglas MacArthur Elementary School is celebrating and recognizing their 90 teachers and staff…and I get to be a part of it!  I am thrilled that I was asked to provide a sweet “thank you” to every person working in the school.

I love to bake, of course – But when I’m baking for a purpose like this one, I love it even more.  Here’s to teachers!  Without you, I would have to home school!

Spring Has Sprung!

Please forgive me for not posting more often – I’ve been having a ton of fun in the kitchen, but I’ve been keeping it all to myself.  I apologize, and I shall try to post more sweet updates and more pictures, too!

I was asked to provide Easter treats for a big egg hunt this last weekend, and these are the bon bons I created.  Fun to make, easy on the eyes, and, most importantly, tasty!   Spring pastels just make me happy – How about you?

Hate wheat?  On a gluten-free diet?   It can be tricky to find a truly tasty gluten-free treat.  And, in honor of my wheat-avoiding friends and customers, I have made several attempts to bake with alternative flours.  Kind of a mess.

That’s the bad news.

The good news is that my marshmallow lollipops, and several bon bon flavors (coffee, peanut butter and coconut) are absolutely wheat/gluten free.

So, while I go back in the kitchen and try to create a decadent gluten-free brownie, at least you can have a marshmallow, or bon bon, and wish me some gluten-free luck!

Happy New Year!

2010 – What a crazy, busy, sweet year!  So many adventures in the kitchen with cupcakes, bon bons, cookies, bars, and chocolate dipped everything.  Thanks to my local friends for being always-willing taste testers, and for all of you who have visited my webpage and Facebook fanpage.  I couldn’t have done it without you!

And after a 1 week break from the kitchen, I am back in action and excited to make 2011 even tastier than 2010.

Happy New Year!
